What’s Beyond Twitter & Facebook?

Last week, @dutchessmtg tweeted to me:  How can a new product have a bigger online presence other than from using Facebook and Twitter? (luggage) Those who have heard my lectures on social media know I am a huge fan of using social media to find core niche spaces for brands (especially new ones) to communicate … Continue reading »

Digital Trend: “Going Photo”

Last night, for Social Media Week NYC, I went to the Instagram Community Party at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, which was a blast. Great music, people, and conversation. Instagram was projecting photos being posted to Instagram during the party in real time on the walls, which was pretty amazing. As we all stared at the … Continue reading »

en•gage (verb): to hold the attention of; engross

Remember the days of flipping through a dictionary? Me neither. With the internet, Google and Wikipedia, in our vocabulary-challenged moments, we simply go online and type in the word to learn its meaning. No need for clunky physical dictionaries or those extra seconds spent recalling the order of neighboring letters in the alphabet. A few … Continue reading »

bye black friday. xoxo

Content is key

Recently I’ve read some articles saying how poorly the majority of marketers work online. It’s as if they’ve lost all their skills when they touch a mouse. I think because this is more of a word of mouth communications tool that when used right, turns into a great marketing tool. This communications tool doesn’t exactly … Continue reading »

Tag, you’re it!

As you are probably aware, we are in information overload with the internet and social media. We don’t open the mailbox and fish out the newspaper to find out what’s going on in the world anymore: news is pushed to us in Tweets, Diggs, Facebook status updates, Gchats, and more. So how do we sort … Continue reading »

Socialnomics

With the amount of frequent updates we are now used to, 24-7 news cycles, and constant updates to blogs and social media, doesn’t it seem like a printed book on the subject is ironic? I guess I will see for myself! I just bought Socialnomics on Amazon.com. I’ll let you know what I find.
